• Question: Why haven't we evolved to have three arms- surely the more arms the better?

      The easiest way to explain this is to think of evolution as a survival mechanism

      If we were able to survive with two arms then there was no need for us to evolve to have three arms

      Further, our two arms are in a balancing act with our two legs for our ‘bipedalism’ (the ability to walk upright on two legs) – and it is this which set us above other creatures
