There are two main reasons: –
1. To challenge myself (a PhD is a very difficult qualification to obtain)
2. To help people – as I work with hospitalised patients it is possible that the findings from my research could directly benefit patients suffering from C. Diff in the future
I do a lot of work with young people and non-scientists and I love speaking to them about their views.
After my PhD, I want to work in science but more with the public, talking about it etc so this is excellent practise. (you’re helping me as much as I am helping you!)
