Question: ok then why does meningitis paralyze you if it is a blood infection because i found it weird because the doctor said i had a blood in infection and then it paralyzed me and i found it bit confusing cause it was not in my nervus system but i still could not move
Meningitis is not classified as a blood infection – it is defined as the inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord (known as the meninges)
This is why paralysis can occur. However, in bacterial meningitis the bacteria reach the brain via the bloodstream (hence the doctor mentioning blood)
