• Question: Could we make a synthetic substitute for blood?

      Currently, blood substitutes do exist but these are unable to transport oxygen which is the major reason people usually require transfusions. However, these can be used simply when blood volume needs to be increased

      Research is ongoing into oxygen-carrying substitutes therefore I’m sure that this will be possible in the near future!
